Onomatopoeia

The word is a compound in Greek that literally means name making. This also means that, in Greek, poetry means something you make.

In this case, Pow is the name Batman’s gloved fist makes when he punches one of the villains in the campy television show that aired on the ABC network in the United States between 1966 and 1968.

The text on the card comes from Ulysses p. 174:

He laughed

to free his mind

from his mind’s bondage.

Usually I am glad to have spent 15 or so minutes creating a card, but today I was plagued by doubts. I realized that the only stencils I had were rather large and I was lucky to fit three letters on the card. After I had already finished more than half the card, I realized that the tip of my red acrylic marker was worn, making my detail work, which I usually struggle with, even less accurate than I wanted it to be. All these doubts are likely connected to the fact that my 58 year old brain woke me up before six and did not let me go back to sleep.

Some days are like that.

But here we are. I hope everyone else has a great day!

Pow.
