Movie: Lawrence of Arabia

Omar Sharif, one of the stars of the movie, in an interview with Roger Ebert said of Lawrence of Arabia:

If you are the man with the money and somebody comes to you and says he wants to make a film that's four hours long, with no stars, and no women, and no love story, and not much action either, and he wants to spend a huge amount of money to go film it in the desert, what would you say?

I think Sharif captured something about the film. It did not have the traditional elements of a blockbuster movie. And yet, Lawrence of Arabia, is without a doubt a great movie. I watched it tonight with Monika, Marta, and Michal and everyone enjoyed it. We split it up over two nights so we did not have to see the full four hours all at once.
