Title: Monsters Are Imaginary

Materials: an old gelli print, acrylic markers, and posca markers

Prompt: imaginary

I started with ideas about math and things like imaginary numbers and surreal numbers. But every time I thought about an idea it just did not seem to lend itself well to visual representation.

 

Then, this morning, I remembered that I bought some Carla Sonheim books for my kids about a dozen years ago. One of those books is called Drawing and Painting Imaginary Animals. 

So, I started with a pencil and an oval and improvised from there.
