Finished: Bliss Montage

 

Yesterday I finished Ling Ma's story collection Bliss Montage. I am not quite sure what my opinion of the book is, but I can say three things.

1. I recommend that you include some time between stories. I read most of them in one day; I think it would be best to take a pause for a day or two before moving on to the next one.
2. Overall, I did enjoy the collection and recommend it to people who enjoy literary fiction. Just bear in mind that the fantastic and the weird is foregrounded in many of these stories.
3. The cover is stunning.
