Politics and Prose's Book of the Month Club

Under the influence of Ron Charles and his books newsletter, I joined the Politics and Prose Book of the Month Club. My first selection -- handpicked for me by the team at Politics and Prose arrived this morning.

After opening the box, I found a book wrapped in gift wrap -- a nice touch!

I pulled off the gift wrap and found a hardcover copy of Samanta Schweblin's new National Book Award winning collection of stories, Seven Empty Houses. I read Schweblin's rather ethereal short novella Fever Dream a couple years ago; I look forward to reading this collection.
