Recent Watching: Frontline

It is amazing how, year after year, Frontline manages to produce excellent documentaries about current events. The show has produced more than 700 documentaries since its premiere in 1983. The producers of the show have earned at least 75 Emmy awards and 18 Peabody awards for their work.

Last night my family and I watched the most recent episode, The Power of the Fed.

When COVID-19 struck, the Federal Reserve stepped in to try to avert economic crisis. As the country’s central bank continues to pump billions of dollars into the financial system daily, who is benefiting and at what cost?

At one point in the film, they interview Joseph Stiglitz who asks about the film they are making. He says something along the lines of, "So you guys are making a movie about the Federal Reserve, monetary policy, and wealth inequality. Wow, that's great."

The movie is engaging. Highly recommended.
