Junk Journal Week 16 and Day 44
Finally made some time for my @dothe100dayproject with an altered playing card and a haiku by the late great Etheridge Knight. My undergraduate roommate Rand first helped me discover Kight in the late eighties; if you want to explore more there is a good anthology called The Essential Etheridge Knight.
As far as screens I only finished one picture this week. Vengeance Most Fowl is the most recent stop motion animation from Nick Park and Aardman Animation. The picture is something of a sequel to their 1993 short The Wrong Trousers. We see the return of Feathers McGraw — a penguin not so cleverly disguised as a rooster — and an attempted heist that ultimately involves a turnip. Personally, I thought Curse of the Were Rabbit (2005) was a better story, but this latest movie is a good choice if you have a Netflix subscription.
I posted my thoughts yesterday about the books I finished this week. But I would like to say that the late Dutch writer, Harry Mulisch, is very much worth your time.
What did you watch or read in the last week or so? Let me know in the comments.
