Junk Journal Week 9
As far as reading, I posted earlier about how I enjoyed King’s The Green Mile.
Krik? Krak? was my first Danticat book. The stories in the collection are rather heavy tales of people in and from Haiti, but I enjoyed the book. Have you read any of her work?
The pictures I saw this past week were all part of my celebration of Black History Month. I am curious if you have ever seen Nothing But a Man. It stars Ivan Dixon (best known for playing Kinch on the television show Hogan’s Heroes) in “an honest portrait of a southern black railroad worker confronting the daily challenges of discrimination and economic precariousness, as he attempts to settle down with his new wife (played by jazz great Abbey Lincoln) and track down his father.” It is currently available with a Criterion Channel subscription.
What have you been watching or reading this week?
