Junk Journal Week 43

The movies I watched are all available on Netflix and come from a list of 3.5 and 4 star reviews on the Roger Ebert website.

As far as books, two of the books are about artists. Balthus was a French painter, perhaps the last of the great narrative painters, known for his erotically charged images, the dreamlike quality of his images, and his deep understanding of light. Woronov's book was about her time at Andy Warhol's factory, her drug use -- much about that including the mole people, so named because they avoided the sun and took a lot of amphetamines, and her time making the movie Chelsea Girls. If you want to learn about Warhol and his art Blake Gopnik's book is recommended.

Rob Harrell's Popcorn is a middle grade/YA novel about a young boy dealing with anxiety. The book has heart.

My other reading was graphic novels including Frank X Walker's Huckleberry Finn from Jim's perspective, Aaron Blabey's fun Bad Guys series for kids, and I finished John Layman's epic Chew.
