Which Book(s) To Pick
Here are some books I checked out at the public library as things I might read during February which is Black History Month. I might only read one, but I am still amazed that for only $68.13/year in library taxes that I can check out a nearly limitless supply of reading material both in print and electronic form. I also just love the anticipation of having several books on the to read shelf that I expect are going to be satisfying.
Here is a list of the books in the picture:
- Becoming Kareem: Growing up on and off the court by Kareem Abdul-Jabar and Raymong Obstfeld
- Heavy by Kiese Laymon
- Duke: A life of Duke Ellington by Terry Teachout
- Tigerland: 1968-1969: A city divided, a nation torn apart, and a magical season of healing by Will Haygood
- Chester B. Himes: a biography by Lawrence P. Jackson
- Air Traffic: A memoir of ambitions and manhood in America by Gregory Pardlo
- Friday Black: Stories by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah
