Current Reading: Me Talk Pretty One Day

I am enjoying listening to David Sedaris read his audiobook Me Talk Pretty One Day. I especially enjoyed this line from his essay "The Learning Curve." This is an essay in which Sedaris describes teaching creative writing. He says, and I am paraphrasing:

They hired me because the last instructor quit at the last minute after he found a better paying job delivering pizzas.
