Concert Last Night

For the first time since March of 2020, I went to a live event last night. As can be seen in the picture above, the event was the Absegami High School spring concert.

Mr. O'Keefe, the band director said that the students worked very hard to figure out how to practice and prepare with many constraints on time and space. And many schools in the area have not had any concerts this year.

As far as the specifics, here are some details:

• We met indoors at the school's Performing Arts Center.
• Everyone in the audience was required to wear a mask. The performers wore masks at all times except when they were playing their instruments.
• Each band member was allowed to invite up to four guests. Each guest had to check in before entering the auditorium to make sure the limit was not exceeded.
• Social distancing was the rule of the day. There were yellow pieces of tape indicating where you could sit in the auditorium. The students were socially distanced on stage.
